About this list
This is a community-maintained record of every Bangladeshi athlete who has finished an IRONMAN or IRONMAN 70.3 triathlon, compiled by BD Triathletes. It currently lists 66 athletes: 27 full-distance IRONMAN finishers and 61 IRONMAN 70.3 finishers. The first Bangladeshi IRONMAN finish was Tahsin Alam at IRONMAN LAKE PLACID in 2012.
A full-distance IRONMAN is a 3.8 km swim, a 180 km bike ride and a 42.2 km marathon, raced back to back in a single day. An IRONMAN 70.3, or half IRONMAN, is exactly half of that: a 1.9 km swim, a 90 km bike ride and a 21.1 km run, 70.3 miles in all.
Each list is numbered in the order athletes first finished that distance. Only official finishes count; a race that was started but not finished (DNF) or not started (DNS) is not included.
